10+ Images That'll Make You Say 'Remember When?
9. This Picture Just Got Stuck to the Roofs of Our Mouths

Eating the traditional Wonder Bread sandwich was like a great game of ham and cheese roulette; never knowing when a bit of the fluffy stuff would become a sticky mess in your tongue. Still, our parents persisted in cooking it; we ate it since it tasted great. Though quite delicious, throwing peanut butter and jelly into those bad lads made it much more of a mouth trap.
Though we all adored Wonder Bread as children, it's also quite acceptable to say that it always stayed on the roof of your tongue like glue. It was the bread that raised a generation, soft and pillowy, with a texture that was simultaneously both consoling and also disturbing. Recall how you might squeeze a whole slice into a small ball? Alternatively, how would it vanish magically if you held it beneath flowing water? Wonder Bread was the mainstay of many sandwiches even if it tasted like a paste-like substance in your mouth. From banana slices with sugar (don't dismiss it until you've tasted it), it was the ideal canvas for everything. Not to mention the crusts, which cause constant arguments about whether they need to be sliced off or left on. While some children thought they were a waste of perfectly fine bread, others insisted eating them would make your hair curly. Looking back, Wonder Bread was undoubtedly a wonder of culinary engineering even if it might not have been the healthiest choice. Its capacity to remain "fresh" for what felt like eternity was both remarkable and rather alarming. Ultimately, though, there was a basic pleasure from our early years that triggers a flood of memories with every sticky bit.
